Paris is a 27-year-old content creator and personal trainer in Vancouver, BC with over 200,000 YouTube subscribers. After more than a decade of training, he’s put in some serious time under the bar, dabbling in everything from powerlifting to Olympic lifting to bodybuilding. But despite his experience, a few rough injuries and confusing nutrition kept him from hitting his goals.
“After three rough injuries from ego lifting and playing rugby in my youth, my training goals have shifted,” Paris said. “Now, it’s all about looking good, feeling good, and staying healthy.”
Before MacroFactor
For all his time under the bar, Paris still struggled to get his nutrition dialed in. At 6’3″ and naturally lean, he often tried to eat as much as possible to put on size, but without a solid plan, he couldn’t quite find the right rhythm.
“At one point, I was hitting up a local Indian buffet four times a week just to try to bulk up,” Paris said. “But because my calorie intake was all over the place — some days way over, other days way under — I didn’t end up building as much muscle as I wanted. Instead, I just got a lot fatter.”

He tried tracking his food with apps like MyFitnessPal, but he had almost come to the conclusion that apps just weren’t for someone with goals like him.
“I always felt like apps like MyFitnessPal weren’t really built for people with goals like mine — building muscle and improving performance,” Paris said. “But MacroFactor seemed like the perfect fit. And when I found out it was co-owned by Greg Nuckols and Jeff Nippard, two guys I’ve looked up to for years, I had to try it.”
Finding his rhythm
Not long after Paris started using the MacroFactor app, he realized what a difference it made to know his numbers instead of just guessing. For someone who’s always been willing to push hard in the gym, it was the missing piece he needed to have his nutrition line up with his training.
“I was training consistently, but my diet was never locked in enough to actually support what I was doing in the gym,” Paris said. “Since I started using MacroFactor, I’ve made way more progress than I did in the seven years before that.”
Strategy-wise, Paris decided to use the manual mode, giving him a little more control while still using all of MacroFactor’s insights and data to help him with the bigger picture. This allowed him to dial things in to match his training phases (cutting or bulking).
From there, he finally started seeing the recomposition results he’d been chasing.

“I used to constantly stress about feeling too skinny or not looking lean enough,” Paris said. “But staying consistent with MacroFactor has helped me build a body I’m proud of — and it’s made a huge difference in my career as both a trainer and a content creator.”
Favorite features
Because Paris often shifts between phases of cutting and bulking, the weight trend feature has become one of his most valuable tools. It cuts through the daily fluctuations and gives him a clearer view of his long-term progress.
“I really love the weight trend feature — it cuts out the noise and gives me a clear view of how my progress is actually going,” Paris said. “The ability to track micronutrients is also super useful for checking if my diet is sustainable or if there are any big nutritional gaps.”
He is also fond of the app’s convenience features, like the “Go-Tos,” which make logging meals almost automatic.
“My favorite feature by far is how MacroFactor learns what I eat at different times of day and shows those foods — already in the amounts I usually eat them — in the ‘1pm’ or whatever-time-it-is Go-Tos tab,” Paris said. “It’s such a simple feature, but it makes tracking feel almost effortless. Honestly, that’s the main reason I love MacroFactor. It makes tracking easy and cuts the time it takes to log everything in half, which makes it way easier to stick with consistently.”

Building a healthier mindset
One of the things Paris appreciates most about MacroFactor is its approach to nutrition without the guilt or negative mindset that many apps tend to embrace.
“One thing I’ve always disliked about apps like MyFitnessPal is how they throw up big red warning signs the second you eat a bit of sugar, sodium, or fat,” Paris said. “It really pushes the idea that those foods are automatically bad for you, which just isn’t true — and definitely isn’t backed by real science. It feels more like fear-mongering from diet culture than actual nutrition advice.”
“MacroFactor is different,” Paris added. “It doesn’t moralize food. Instead, it gives you the info you need and lets you decide how to use it. It’s focused on education, not guilt — and that’s something I really appreciate.”
Looking ahead
Paris plans to keep leaning down and wants to drop another 6-8 pounds and then adjust. He’s in it for the long game and appreciates having MacroFactor along for the journey.
“The biggest lesson I’ve learned is that consistency always beats intensity,” Paris said. “It has to be something you can actually stick to. Even if it’s the ‘perfect’ plan on paper, if there’s too much friction in following it, you won’t do it long enough to see real results.”
“That’s a big reason why I love MacroFactor,” Paris added. “It makes managing my nutrition almost effortless. I don’t have to overthink it — if I just hit my numbers, I’m good. And that simplicity makes it way easier to stay consistent.”
